You detox my body through
binges and benders
Even though I forget your cells all remember
By now you're cirrhotic, swollen and fatty
But still you take on J.D. and Wild Turkey
A time or two you're limits I've met
Wonderful nights by the toilet I spent
Week after week, year after year
Sometimes I wonder should I stop drinking beer
Through malt and hops and an occasional bowl
You've protected my organs and put up with Skoal
Working without thanks, you've toiled and tired
Sad will be the day when our run expires
But I promise you this with my last dying quiver
My voice will sing out "Thank you sweet Liver!"
