Whiskey Eyes

by Roast

Things are so much easier when seen through whiskey eyes

Whiskey eyes.

Whiskey eyes see no regret
Pain and suffering are never met
If only you could see through mine
You’d no longer wonder why
I have whiskey eyes

This down ward spiral starts up again
Life is all rage and pain
Wish that I had the courage to get up again
But I’d just get knocked down the same.

But the whiskey makes me feel all right
The whiskey helps me sleep at night.
Tomorrow morning I’ll feel all wrong
But at least tonight the pain will be gone.

So on again this tortured soul
To the places I must roll
I call the shots and make the rounds
When ever I drink the whiskey down
And get my whiskey eyes

I’ve had some say I drink too much
And some more say not enough
Which man I am all comes down
To how much whiskey I’ve been around

I love the ones that don't love back
And play it strait and keep on track
But now I’ve become what they despise
They prefer my whiskey eyes

We are all living on borrowed time
Life for us is not so sublime
We can only play the hand we're dealt
The only way to improve I have felt,
Is to have whiskey eyes

Someday it all will come to an end
When the world has no more time to lend
And I’ll look back with sober eyes
And wish with no surprise
That I had whiskey eyes.
